It's worst than special interest.

Nope. Your imagination again. Emanuel was chair of the DCCC and a democratic congressman. He was not part of the campaign team. By your standards, Obama would have to disqualify democrat politicians in general for positions in the administration. Lots of them supported him.

It seems by *any* standard democrat politicians are disqualified for administration positions - how many have had to withdraw now? Only 17 of 18 filled at treasury, more withdraw every day due to conflicts or tax evasion or for unknown reasons. Seriously, WTF? [Confused]

And, of course Pres. Obama is the first president to have people withdraw from nomination.

Yeah it's shocking. Why can't they just brush the conflicts of interest under a rug and accept the positions? [Smile]

You miss the point ... why can't Obama and his team find people that don't have conflicts of interest, aren't tax evaders, or whatever it is that makes them damaged goods? Why are so many so bad and why can't Obama avoid them?

No, trying to reframe it that way is an attempt to mislead and excuse what's going on. [Roll Eyes]

What's going on is that potential appointees are being screened and held up to standards, and G2 is trying to explain why we should find this shockingly scandalous [Smile]

You sure that Obama's got more of these than any of his predecessors in recent memory?

Scathing satire by Colbert on the issue.
