"Yeah, he's a smart guy. REALLY structurally complex music . . . lotta fun to listen to. Never heard that particularly foul-mouthed one, tho."

So you've only heard the latest from 10,000 days?

Good god my man, you got some serious catching up to do with this band!

Opiate
Undertow
Aenima
Salival
Lateralus

Check 'em out.

I've been a big Tool fan since '94 and I've seen them in concert about 6 times. They are the most complex rhythm metal/hardcore band with the suckiest lead guitars ever! lol

Tool ain't bad. I mean, I actually bought Opiate and Undertow, and I rarely pay for music. Saw them in concert back around 96, and they do put on a damn good show.

quote:

So you been to school for a year or two
And you know you've seen it all
In daddy's car thinkin' you'll go far
Back east your type don't crawl
Play ethnicky jazz to parade your snazz
On your Blaunpunkt stereo
Braggin that you know how the niggers feel cold
And the slums got so much soul

It's time to taste what you most fear
Rights, will not help you here
Brace yourself, My Son

Brace, yourself, my heir

It's a holiday in Cambodia
It's tough kid, but it's life
It's a holiday in Cambodia
Don't forget to pack a wife

Holiday in Cambodia Dead Kennedys

but its kinda hard when she's ready to go
I may be dumb but Im not a dweeb
Im just a suckar with no self esteem
a way a aaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa a
When she says all that she want is me
then I wonder why she sleeps with my friends
When she say oh that I'm like a desease
then I wonder how much more I can spend
well I guess I should stick up for myself
but I really think it's better tis way
the more you suffer the more it shows you really care
right
yea yea yea
(go offspring great song)

How is it that this thread isn't breaking copywrite laws? What is the rule on that sort of thing?

Nobody is making any kind of money off of posting their favorite lyrics here.

I don't think you need to make money to break copywrite laws do you? If that was the case, I could give all of you my library of .mp3 files...

Of course, I don't know if everyone here likes ABBA...

there's probably technically some copyright violation when posting an entire song's lyrics. However, it'd be insane to go after people who are advertising your music for free. This is why you can find dozens or hundreds of sites that have the lyrics for thousands of pop songs.

You actually have to cause a loss that is provable. You don't have to make money, but you have to make the copyright owner lose money.

Pretty hard to make a convincing case that posting a songs lyrics costs anyone a sale.

Not quite right. (I'm a bit of a copyright nerd.)

From http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-definitions.html

quote:
What is copyright infringement?
As a general matter, copyright infringement occurs when a copyrighted work is reproduced, distributed, performed, publicly displayed, or made into a derivative work without the permission of the copyright owner.

The copyright owner may have to prove a loss in order to win damages against you. But that is a separate matter from whether infringement has occurred.

However, I still believe that posting lyrics on an internet forum is probably not going to get anyone into trouble. Everyone with the authority to do anything about it has better things to do. [Smile]

Posting excerpts most likley falls under fair use doctrine so I don't think there's even a technical violation when you post your favorite verse in order to comment on it.

I'm done posting on this tangent if folks want to get back to posting song lyrics. [Wink]

Well since we got derailed for a bit about copyright infringement, let's get some lyrics here from the poster boys of rock and roll against copyright infringement...Metallica.

---
Dealing out the agony within
charging hard and no one's gonna give in
Living on your knees, conformity
or dying on your feet for honesty
Inbred, our bodies work as one
bloody, but never cry submission
Following our instinct not a trend
go against the grain until the end

"Damage Inc."

---

Do You See What I See?
Truth Is an Offense
You Silence for Your Confidence
Do You Hear What I Hear?
Doors Are Slamming Shut
Limit Your Imagination, Keep You Where They must
Do You Feel What I Feel?
Bittering Distress
Who Decides What You Express
Do You Take What I Take?
Endurance Is the Word
Moving Back Instead of Forward Seems to Me Absurd

Do You Fear What I Fear?
Living Properly
Truths to You Are Lies to Me
Do You Choose What I Choose?
More Alternatives
Energy Derives from Both the plus and Negative
Do You Need What I Need?
Boundaries Overthrown
Look Inside to Each His Own
Do You Trust What I Trust?
Me, Myself and I
Penetrate the Smoke Screen I See Through the Selfish Lie

Do You Know What I Know?
Your Money And Your Wealth
Your Silence Just to Hear Your Self
Do You Want What I Want?
Desire Not a Thing
I Hunger after Independence Lengthen Freedom's Ring

{chorus}
Independence Limited
Freedom of Choice
Choice Is Made for You My Friend
Freedom of Speech
Speech Is Words That They Will Bend
Freedom no longer frees you

Doesn't Matter What You See
Or into it What You Read
You Can Do it Your Own Way
If It's Done Just How I Say

"Eye of the Beholder"

---

Before you judge me take a look at you
Can't you find something better to do
Point the finger, slow to understand
Arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand

"Holier Than Thou"

Some good Pearl Jam:

"Is something wrong, she said
Well of course there is
You're still alive, she said
Oh, and do I deserve to be
Is that the question
And if so...if so...who answers...who answers..."
-Alive

"My road it may be lonely just because it's not paved.
It's good for drifting, drifting away."
-Drifting

"Once divided, nothing left to subtract.
Some words when spoken,
Can't be taken back.
Walks on his own,
With thoughts he can't help thinking;
Future's above,
But in the past he's slow and sinking.
Caught a bolt of lightnin',
Cursed the day he let it go...
Nothingman"
-Nothingman

"Hold on to the thread
The currents will shift
Guide me towards you
Know something's left
And we're all allowed to dream
Of the next time we touch."
-Oceans

And I have more non-Pearl Jam, but in the interests of space...

Oh you silly people and your modern music.

Don't you hear my call though you're many years away?
Don't you hear me calling you?
Write your letters in the sand 'til the day I take your hand
In the land that our grandchildren knew

- Queen, '39

My goddess hear my darkest fear
I speak too late
It's forevermore that I wait
Dear friend, goodbye
No tears in my eye
So sad, it ends
As it began

- Queen, The White Queen

Standing by a parking meter
When I caught a glimpse of Rita
Filling in a ticket in her little white book
In her cap, she looked much older
And the bag across her shoulder
Made her look a little like a military man
Lovely Rita, meter maid, may I inquire discreetly
When are you free to take some tea with me?

- The Beatles, Lovely Rita

Black smoke billowing, bursting forth
With the power of 10 billion butterfly sneezes
Man, with his flaming pyre
Has conquered the wayward breezes
Climbing to tranquility
Far above the clouds
Conceiving the heavens
Clear of mist and shroud

- Moody Blues, Higher and Higher

And from my theme song...

They see me roll on my Segway
I know in my heart they think I'm white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Can't you see I'm white and nerdy
Look at me I'm white and nerdy
I'd like to roll with the gangsters
Although it's apparant I'm too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
Think I'm just too white and nerdy
I'm just too white and...
Holy cow I'm white and nerdy!

- Weird Al, White and Nerdy [Smile]

My favorite Pearl Jam lyric of all time:

I'll Ride the Wave, Where it Takes Me

Pearl Jam came to Hawaii for their last two shows of their first tour after their first album Ten became a blockbuster.

They played at the University of Hawaii's Ampitheatre. I went to the show several hours early to get in line early, as it was festival "seating" -- aka standing room only -- and I got there and Ed Ved was wandering around. I walked up to him and offered him my beer, and he chugged it in one big drink than shook my hand and I told him to have a good show.

15 minutes later, the band came on stage to do their sound check, and looking through the iron gates, I watched Pearl Jam play Evenflow and Release to an empty ampitheatre - and they played as if it were performing in front of a massive crowd. I got chickenskin watching this band play their ass off to an empty stadium.

I haven't liked their latest stuff, but there first 3 albums are all time classics in my book.

quote:
You watch me on your TV.
Say that my job is easy.
Say I am not athletic.
You think my sport's pathetic.

But you can't judge me 'till you walked a mile in my bowling shoes.

-----

And as I roll the ball I cry, "Let me bowl or let me die!"
I am mighty Malakai, the bowling god.
The smell of rosin gets me high.
Kiss those --------- pins goodbye!
I am mighty Malakai, the bowling god!

and:

quote:

Are you keen to the clean action on the screen
Slickly and silently it scans you with the beam
Of zeroes and ones inspiring the fear of the sums
of the numbers which name you-it clicks and it hums
It takes as it gives only it will not disclose
Whats behind the interface, the calculated pose
Unruffled it always maintains its aplomb
I long for the days when machines were all dumb

Licentious, politically incorrect, cold war paranoid....I love Warren Zevon

Well, I went home with the waitress
The way I always do
How was I to know
She was with the Russians, too

I was gambling in Havana
I took a little risk
Send lawyers, guns and money
Dad, get me out of this

I'm the innocent bystander
Somehow I got stuck
Between the rock and the hard place
And I'm down on my luck
And I'm down on my luck
And I'm down on my luck

Now I'm hiding in Honduras
I'm a desperate man
Send lawyers, guns and money
The **** has hit the fan

Send lawyers, guns and money...

Mariner, I accept your challenge.

"Summertime, and the living is easy
Fish are jumping, and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy's rich, and your ma is good lookin'
So hush little baby, don't you cry.

One of these mornings,
you gonna rise up singin'
And then you'll spread your wings
an' you'll take to the sky.
But till that mornin'
there's a nothing can harm you
with Daddy an' Mommy standin by."
-George Gershwin, Summertime

"So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from hell,
blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field
from a cold steel rail,
a smile from a veil,
do you think you can tell?"
-Pink Floyd, Wish you Were Here

"Tell me that you have everything you need,
and your bird can sing,
but you can't have me."
-Beatles, And Your Bird Can Sing

"Measuring a summer's day,
I only find it slips away to gray;
And the hours they bring me pain."
-Led Zeppelin, Tangerine (the only instance I was favorably impressed by their lyrics.)

And come on, White and Nerdy came out, what, a year ago? Although it is a competitor for my theme song as well.

I know the legal copyright laws say that we can not do what we are doing. Well screw that If I buy a computer program I am going to put it on every computer I own and not buy a separate one each time I download it(read the fine print thats what it says)

When I want to share a song with my friend I am going to copy it

and if I want to play a old nes game that has been made into rom format I am going to download it and play it(come on if your not going to get money from it anyway thats just being selfish for no reason)

call me what you will I am not going to let people who are making shady deals and making millions dictate morality in contratual form to me

My favorite song - and this WILL be played at my wedding:

Code Monkey get up, drink coffee
Code Monkey go to job
Code Monkey have boring meeting
with boring manager Rob
Rob say Code Monkey very diligent
but his output stink
his code not functional, not elegant
what does Code Monkey think?
Code Monkey thinks maybe manager Rob
should write ******* login page himself
Code Monkey not say it out loud
Code Monkey not stupid, just proud

Code Monkey likes Fritos
Code Monkey likes Tab and Mountain Dew
Code Monkey very simple man
Big warm fuzzy secret heart
Code Monkey like you...

-Jonathan Coulton (it's really very catchy, you can listen to it on his webpage if you're a huge dork like me [Razz] )

First Love
by Utada Hikaru

The little story I made up about this is of a elderly Japanese lady walking alone through the crowded Shinjuku underground mall, gently caressing a locket carrying the picture of a young man from long ago who went off to war and never came back.

English Translation

In your final kiss
I could taste the flavor of tobaco
It was a bitter and painful smell

At about this time tomorrow
I wonder where you'll be
I wonder who you'll be thinking of

You are always gonna be my love
Even if someday, you fall in love with someone else
I'll remember to love
You taught me how
You are always gonna be the one
For now, it's still a sad love song
Until I can sing a new one

The time which has stopped
Is about to start again
It's just that there are things I don't want to forget

At about this time tomorrow
I'm sure I'll be crying
And I'll probably be thinking of you

You will always be inside my heart
Because it's a place that will forever be yours alone
I hope that I have a place in your heart too
Now and forever you are still the one
For now, it's still a sad love song
Until I can sing a new one

You are always gonna be my love
Even if someday, you fall in love with someone else
I'll remember to love
You taught me how
You are always gonna be the one
It's still a sad love song
Now and forever

If, for example, you’re alone
And you can no longer see anything
If, for example, you’ve still decided
To keep moving foward
Give me your hand
Even if you’ve only
Got one wing left
Even if I’ve only

Just when I thought I'd get outta there with my skin
These five big dudes come strollin' in
With this one old drunk chick and some fella with green teeth

And I was almost to the door when the biggest one
Said; "You tip your hat to this lady, son."
And when I did all that hair fell out from underneath.

Now the last thing I wanted was to get into a fight
In Jackson, Mississippi on a Saturday night
'Specially when there was three of them and only one of me
They all started laughin' and I felt kinda sick
And I knew I'd better think of somethin' pretty quick
So I just reached out and kicked old green-teeth right in the knee.

He let out a yell that'd curl your hair
But before he could move, I grabbed me a chair
And said; "Watch him folks, 'cause he's a thouroughly dangerous man."
"Well, you may not know it, but this man's a spy
He's an undercover agent for the FBI
And he's been sent down here to infiltrate the Ku Klux Klan."

He was still bent over, holdin' on to his knee
But everyone else was lookin' and listenin' to me
And I layed it on thicker and heavier as I went
I said; "Would you beleive this man has gone as far
As tearin' Wallace stickers off the bumpers of cars
And he voted for George McGovern for president."

"He's a friend of them long-haired, hippie type, pinko fags
I betcha he's even got a Commie flag
Tacked up on the wall, inside of his garage
He's a snake in the grass, I tell ya guys
He may look dumb, but that's just a disguise
He's a mastermind in the ways of espionage."

They all started lookin' real suspicious at him
And he jumped up an' said; "Now, just wait a minute, Jim
You know he's lyin' I've been livin' here all of my life."
"I'm a faithfull follower of Brother John Birch
And I belong to the Antioch Baptist Church
And I ain't even got a garage, you can call home and ask my wife."

I'm a human corkscrew, and all my wine is blood
They're gonna kill me, Ma.

Jesus: The missing years, John Prine

In a cold and gray town, a nurse says "Lay down"
This ain't no playground, and this ain't home
Someone's children, out having children
In a gray stone building, all alone

On somewhere else bound, Smokey Mountain Greyhound
She bows her head down, hummin' lullabies
Your daddy never, meant to hurt you ever
He just don't live here, but you've got his eyes

John Prine, Unwed Fathers

Last time I checked my bankroll,
It was gettin' thin
Sometimes it seems like the bottom
Is the only place I've been
I Chased a rainbow down a one-way street... dead end
And all my friends turned out to be insurance salesmen

But fortunately I have the key to escape reality
And you may see me tonight with an illegal smile
It don't cost very much, but it lasts a long while
Won't you please tell the man I didn't kill anyone
No I'm just tryin' to have me some fun

John Prine, Illegal Smile

A recent favorite

I'm 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
I'm 22 for a moment
She feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live
I'm 33 for a moment
Still the man, but you see I'm a they
A kid on the way
A family on my mind
I'm 45 for a moment
The sea is high
And I'm heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy, Time to lose yourself
Within a morning star
15 I'm all right with you
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live
Half time goes by
Suddenly you’re wise
Another blink of an eye
67 is gone
The sun is getting high
We're moving on...
I'm 99 for a moment
Dying for just another moment
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
15 there's still time for you
22 I feel her too
33 you’re on your way
Every day's a new day...
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey 15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live

5 for fighting "100 years"

And I am thrilled and amazed there was a Dana Lyons song in the list.

IMO, the best verse ever written in an American song:

"When I was just a baby,
My Mama told me, "Son,
Always be a good boy
Don't ever play with guns."
But I shot a man in Reno,
Just to watch him die.
When I hear that whistle blowin',
I hang my head and cry."

I think that it comes to a toss-up between these two:

"Ghost," by the Indigo Girls.

quote:
...Dark and dangerous like a secret it gets whispered in a hush
And when I wake the things I dreamt about you last night make me blush
When you kiss me like a lover and you sting me like a viper
I go follow to the river, play your memory like the piper

And I feel it like a sickness how this love is killing me
But I walk into the fingers of your fire willingly
Dance the edge of sanity I've never been this close
In love with your ghost

Comfortably Numb, by Pink Floyd:

quote:
Hello.
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone home?

Come on, now.
I hear youre feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain,
Get you on your feet again.

Relax.
I need some information first.
Just the basic facts:
Can you show me where it hurts?

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ships smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.
When I was a child I had a fever.
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I got that feeling once again.
I cant explain, you would not understand.
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.

Ok.
Just a little pinprick. [ping]
Therell be no more --aaaaaahhhhh!
But you may feel a little sick.

Can you stand up?
I do believe its working. good.
Thatll keep you going for the show.
Come on its time to go.

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ships smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.

Chorus
Bye bye love
Bye bye happiness
Hello loneliness
I think Im gonna cry
Bye bye love
Bye bye sweet caress
Hello emptiness
I feel like I could die
Bye bye my love, goodbye

There goes my baby
With someone new
She sure looks happy
I sure am blue
She was my baby
Till he stepped in
Goodbye to romance
That might have been

Chorus

Im through with romance
Im through with love
Im through with counting
The stars above
And heres the reason
That Im so free
My loving baby
Is through with me

It was a cold day in London,
Dark clouds rumbling,
Grabbed the yellow pages under the bed,
I noticed an ad it said,
'Indian Summer', '10 Days of Wonder',
'Paradise is yours for £50!'
I thought to myself, 'That's it!'

Told the wife to pack the bag,
Forget about the plans we had
"We're going east instead."
She looked at me and shakes her head.
I said, "O now baby,
I know it sounds crazy,
But this may be the only chance we get.
We only get one life to live!"

So we grabbed the kids and some body-lotion
and we went to the middle of the
Indian Ocean

Our guide was there to meet us;
Welcome sign to greet us
Ten porters stood up like a wall
Carried our bags to the hall
The custom man smiled to me
Begs so politely
"Tell me sir, have you any more?"
I looked at him and said, "that's all."

They drove us to the beach house,
I said, "Is this all ours?"
They nodded and rolled out the bed
I turned to my wife and said,
"Ooh now honey, I guess it's still sunny,
Let's all go down for a dip
Before the sun sets."

Suddenly I gazed up,
Upon the rising wave, I
Saw the sea drawn from the sand
I grabbed the wife and kids and ran.
"Please God! save us!
Please don't blame us,
For this is the only life we have;
We'll make it up if we were bad."

The wave was a-pounding as we
scrambled up the mountain
No one even dared to turn their head
Just one slip and you're dead!

As the waves were dying,
A child was crying
Searching for her mum and dad
A thin dress was all she had
She held us tight,
We looked far and wide
But nothing there...
There was nothing left
We all broke down and wept.

Then came the morning,
A New Year was born
The girl had been with us all night
My wife looked down at her and sighed:
"O my Darling! It's suddenly dawning,
But just take a look at those eyes
She must be Paradise!"

just turned 34 this past weekend, I've been contemplating mortality more than usual, and somewhat saddened by just how quickly the years seem to go by
I just turned 23 yesterday and that's how I felt. Gotta admit I feel a little better now [Smile]

what you think is your thing,
you might find you're, missing all the rest."

I could probably fill this thread page with great DMB lyrics.

This is a stupid song, but it never failed to make me laugh til I cried when I was younger [Smile]

Its the time of year
Now that Spring is in the air
When those two wet gits with their girly curly hair
Make another song for moronic holidays
That nauseate-ate-ate
In a million different ways
From the shores of Spain
To the coast of Southern France
No matter where you hide
You just can't escape this dance

Hold a chicken in the air
Stick a deckchair up your nose
Buy a jumbo jet
And then bury all your clothes
Paint your left knee green
Then extract your wisdom teeth
Form a string quartet
And pretend your name is Keith

Skin yourself alive
Learn to speak Arapahoe
Climb inside a dog
And behead an eskimo
Eat a Renault Four with salami in your ears
Casserole your gran
Disembowel yourself with spears

The disco is vibrating
The sound is loud and grating
Its truly nauseating
Let's do the dance again

Hold a chicken in the air
Stick a deckchair up your nose
Yes you'll hear this song in the holiday discos
And there's no escape in the clubs or in the bars
You would hear this song if you holidayed in Mars

Skin yourself alive
Learn to speak Arapahoe
Climb inside a dog
And behead an eskimo
Now you've heard it once
Your brain will spring a leak
And though you hate this song
You'll be humming it for weeks

Hold a chicken in the air
Stick a deckchair up your nose
Buy a jumbo jet
And then bury all your clothes
La la la la la
La la la la la la la
La la la la la
La la la la la la laaaaaaa

- Spitting Image

Edited to add: yes, I was a very sick child :S [Razz]

Sunrise, this is the last day that i'll ever see,
out in the courtyard their ready for me,
but I go to my Lord with no fear,
cos I did what I did for Maria..

As i road in to town with the sun going down,
all the windows were barred,
there was no one around.
for they knew that i'd come with my hand
on my gun,
and revenging my heart for maria,
my dearest departing maria.

Take an eye for an eye,
and a life for a life,
and somebody must die,
for the death of my wife,
yes i did what i did for maria,
i did what i did for maria.

Laughter echoed across from the end of the street,
there was the man i was burning to meet,
but my mind was so calm and so clear,
as i took my revenge for maria.

and he fell to the ground raising dust all around,
but i know he was died long before he went down, it was quick it was clean,
made it easy on him,
which is more when he did for maria
when he did what he did to maria.

I Did what i did for Maria - Tony christie

Everything seems to look as it should
But I wonder what goes on behind doors
A fella looking dapper, but he's sittin with a slapper
Then I see it's a pimp and his crack whore..

There was a little old lady, who was walkin down the road
She was struggling with bags from Tesco
There were people from the city havin lunch in the park
I believe that it's called al fresco
Then a kid came along to offer a hand
But before she had time to accept it
hits her over the head, doesn't care if she's dead
Cause he's got all her jewellery and wallet

This was always a favourite of mine when i was a kid...

Heaven can wait,
And a band of Angels wrapped up in my heart,
Will take me through the lonely night,
Through the cold of the day.
And I know, I know,
Heaven can wait,
And all the gods come down here just to sing for me,
And the melody's gonna make me fly,
Without pain, without fear.

Give me all of your dreams,
And let me go alone on your way.
Give me all of your prayers to sing,
And I'll turn the night into the skylight of day.
I got a taste of paradise,
I'm never gonna let it slip away.
I got a taste of paradise,
It's all I really need to make me stay
Just like a child again.

Heaven can wait.
And all I've got is time until the end of time.
I won't look back.
I won't look back.
Let the altars shine.

And I know that I've been released,
But I don't know to where,
And nobody's gonna tell me now,
And I don't really care. No, no, no.
I got a taste of paradise.
That's all I really need to make me stay.
I got a taste of paradise.
If I had it any sooner you know
You know I never would have run away from my home.

Heaven can wait.
And all I've got is time until the end of time.
I won't look back.
I won't look back.
Let the altars shine.

Heaven can wait.
Heaven can wait.
I won't look back.
I won't look back.
Let the altars shine.
Let the altars shine.

"How much do I know
That you talk out of turn?
You must say that I'm young
You must say I'm unlearned.

But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you -
that even Jesus would never
forgive what you do.

And I hope that you die,
and your death will come soon.
I'll follow your casket
on a pale afternoon.

And I'll watch while you're lowered
Unto your deathbed
And I'll stand over your grave
till I'm sure that you're dead".
