I live in New Jersey. Obama has a 14 pt lead here. It's not a swing state. How many of us live in states where the electoral vote isn't already a given?

Pennsylvania. Maybe Romney will give us a second look closer to the deadline, but for the moment it looks like he's given up here. The only question on the presidential level right now is whether the Democrats can keep Johnson on the ballot or the Republicans can block him.

Texas. No way my state is going to go for anything but the Republican candidate, whoever he or she is.

Nope. I am surprised to even see national election ads here. (My guess is that they are aimed at the WI and IN areas that are in the Chicago market.) My guess is that I will be taking a bus to do campaign work elsewhere.

California. No drama here. (As far as the Presidential race goes, that is. Statewise, however... [Eek!] )

Ohio, so for sure. The phone calls are already bad and I expect it to get worse. Since my wife and I are on differing sides of the political spectrum, we have agreed to hang up on every one and delete all the voice mails they leave us unlistened to.

I don't know if Michigan is classified as a swing state or not, but the GOP SuperPACs pulled back a week or so ago, but Romney's campaign is launching a new round of ads. My feeling is that the state is leaning heavily for Obama. A good billboard for Obama would be a car with Romney in a doghouse strapped to the roof.
