Someone who posts on boards for the purpose of insulting and/or just getting attention. Like the new idiot with the farts and the video games.

Thats a good example of a troll. Many others, but he is the one currently trolling the forums until Mod logs in tonight and bans him.

Also, Global Democrat is a good example. Someone who's ostensibly on-topic, but does it in such a consistently inflammatory manner as to render his posts devoid of any constructive value.

Other characteristics of trolls include lying about people's real lives, consistently attributing motive in a vicious manner, spreading innuendo and so on. I once read a very comprehensive post about trolls and how to deal with them (ignore them, mostly), but it was in Hebrew, so no point spending time to dig it up.

Iamsmarterthanu, or whatever his name was, is a perfect example of a troll. He maybe smarter than me, but I have more power than he, so he is gone.

A troll, by any other name, is still (apparently) ornery.

That a-hole is obvious.

I'm a troll by Leto's definition.
