Ok, didn't want to de-rail Drewmies thread.

So, what movie(s) are you suprised haven't been made, or really think SHOULD be made? I mean, trying to focus on topics that you think could actually be marketable and translated well to film?

I'd say...

The life of Fredrick Douglass.

A decent film of Huckleberry Finn, free from disneyfication.

I want to leave room:) I'll probably list a few more later.

How about one where a conservative isn't portrayed as a hick, a sexual deviate, a blatant hypocrite, obviously wrong or woefully stupid?

How about the story of how the little business is crushed, not by Wal-Mart, not by outsourcing, but by the behemoth called the federal government with its gazillion rules on everything and the high tax rate. THAT would be an interesting movie.

Bio-pic of Martin Luther King, Jr. It's pathetic that this has never been made, but it's undoubtedly because so many people have their causes rapped up in its depiction. And very few of those causes and crusaders are worthy of him.

You might want to master the art of counting, since the National Review Website lists only 80 movies. [Razz]

Haggis, so now I'm genuinely curious. Where did you get the list? There are a lot of really good films in that list (and some second-rate ones like Undercover Brother, which wrung out every drop of humor from racial stereotypes in the first 20 min then just repeated them for the next hour or so.)

How about the official 9/11 movie?

One directed by a director other than the total historical re-write/fantasy drivel of Oliver Stone? Based on his JFK, I hold no hope that his 9/11 film will be remotely accurate or credible.

Also, we could avoid having the director of Tom Clancy movies as well. Otherwise, we would have to watch 9/11: The Movie, starring Ed Norton as Mark Goering, the Nazi Skin Head terrorist that lead the infamous 19 white supremists on that day...
