General Comments / The Great Replacement?
« on: May 16, 2022, 09:11:43 AM »
Well  I bet Tucker Carlson is pleased.

Almost nothing from Fox News on this tragedy. Maybe because it was just 10+ black people gunned down by a young white Christian male.  Or maybe their employees support of the Great Replacement theory is coming back to haunt them.

Lets listen for the usual suspects skittering around trying to say why this was not all that bad and it was just a single deranged person and not a larger movement that the Right has been pushing for a few years now.  Or how this guy is actually a deep plant left wing false flag operative funded by Bill Gates and George Soros.

General Comments / Madison Cawthorn, Too Stupid to Serve?
« on: April 28, 2022, 08:33:48 AM »
Madison Cawthorn seems to have a problem following the law.

Multiple traffic violations, including driving with a suspended license.

Twice trying to take a weapon (said weapon at least once being loaded) through air port security.

Failing to report the buying of crypto currencies.

This last one is either he lied about buying it and did not have to report it, or he did buy it and did not report it.

You might think the Law and Order people would be all over this, but I guess he gets a pass due his right wing leanings.

General Comments / A Victory for France
« on: April 24, 2022, 08:38:45 PM »
Well Macron has defeated LaPenn by 16 points and she has conceded.  How long before Trump calls her a weak woman for not claiming election fraud, which has plenty of evidence of.

General Comments / Trump looses again
« on: April 20, 2022, 07:51:22 PM »
Trump campaign ordered to pay legal fees in law suite they lost.

He just keeps loosing and loosing and loosing.

General Comments / Alex Jones, scumbag
« on: April 08, 2022, 12:41:17 PM »
Now that Info Wars guy Alex Jones is finally being held to account for all of his defamation of the Sandy Hook families, he is trying to hide his assets.

What a despicable person

General Comments / LSAT and the SC
« on: March 03, 2022, 07:54:22 AM »
So Tucker Carlson wants to see the LSAT scores of Ketanji Jackson.  I say sure.  As long as we get to see the scores of Barret, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh. And if her scores are better, then they have to resign from the SC and Biden gets to pick their replacements.

General Comments / Do Republicans know what defamation/libel is?
« on: February 15, 2022, 03:56:25 PM »
Palin lost with the jury and the judge.

Let's see how the Dominion and Smartmatic suites fare.  I think they will go in favor of Dominion and Smartmatic.

So the last 10 years of financial records are suspect and they will not work with him any more.

This seems like a big deal.

General Comments / Lauren Bobert thinks the Constitution can not "evolve"
« on: February 04, 2022, 08:03:32 AM »

There may not need to be a literacy test but maybe there should be a civics test.

The Constitution was designed to evolve.

But we all know that good Christians do not believe in evolution.

General Comments / Biden's choice for the SC
« on: January 27, 2022, 09:56:00 AM »
So before he has actually nominated anyone some Republicans are calling his nominee a ultra liberal who wants to kill babies, punish white people and take away your guns.

Well that may be a bit of hyperbole at this time but it is going to happen.

So who do you think he is going to choose? And how easily will this nominee get through the process?

General Comments / Fox News The Shadow Government?
« on: January 11, 2022, 03:55:20 PM »

Well it seems like Trump took his marching orders from unelected Sean, Lou, Laura and Jeanine.

And we all know who they take their orders from.

So Ruppert Murdoch was running the country.

General Comments / Republican or Not
« on: November 21, 2021, 08:20:42 AM »
I do not watch much SNL any more but this skit is one of the best I have seen from them in a long time.

Do any of the Trump supporters here think this is OK?

I wonder if Flynn knows that the "One Nation under God" was added until the mid 1950's.   So the pledge has a much longer history with out those words than with it.

This statement flies in the face of all the US and the Constitution stands for.

General Comments / 14 characteristics

I watch Beau on a regular basis.

He has some very good points.

General Comments / There is no I in Team
« on: November 07, 2021, 03:35:08 PM »
So what do you say about all of these sports figures who will not get vaccinated and are costing their teams?  I mean supposedly these guys will do anything to help their team win except get a vaccine that hundreds of millions of Americans have taken with almost no serious side effects. Aaron Rodgers even lied about  his status.  I mean saying he was "immunized" when he knew he had not  had Covid or the shot is lying.

General Comments / Truth Social
« on: October 21, 2021, 12:18:36 PM »
So Trump has a new site out called Truth Social. It promises open, free  and honest global conversation.

As long as it is not a criticism of Trump.

Free speech as long at they agree with it.

General Comments / Sept 18 DC rally for Jan 6
« on: September 15, 2021, 07:59:12 AM »
The people sponsoring the Sept 18 rally do not want any one to wear either Trump or Biden clothing or showing support for either person.

It makes sense if you just want to talk about the protesters that are in jail or facing charges, but what do you want to bet a whole bunch of people show up in Trump gear and  Trump supporters call it a false flag operation.

General Comments / Infrastructure week
« on: July 29, 2021, 07:54:50 AM »
After 4-1/2 years we are finally getting Infrastructure week.  After 4 years of Trump failing to get a deal done, Biden seems to have done so.

So what are the chances that this deal makes it past the goal posts and gets signed into law?

General Comments / Trump's Lawsuit against the tech companies
« on: July 08, 2021, 07:41:17 AM »
So what will the out come be?

1: Trump pulls the lawsuit before anything happens other than him fleecing his followers for more money.
2: Suit gets tossed by judge
3: Suit goes to depositions and Trump pulls the suit then so he does not have to testify.
4: Suit gets settled out of court.
5: Suit goes to trial and Trump wins
6: Suit goes to trial and Trump looses.

Which is the most likely?  I think 1 or 2 but would love it to get to 3. Trump has to know he can not testify under oath and will do anything to keep that from happening.

General Comments / Tump: Ignorant or complicit?
« on: July 01, 2021, 07:45:29 PM »
Ok with the charges filed today againt the Trump organization and the long time CFO, spaning at least 15 years.  Was Trump ignorant of the wrong doing or complicit?  Either way you would think the BOD would want him out as CEO and off the board.   Either he was complicit in the crimes or he was too stupid to realize what has been going on for 15 years. Either way not good optics for such a smart guy.

General Comments / Why do people still belive in Q-Anon?
« on: June 30, 2021, 11:31:58 AM »
So how many predictions of Q-Anon have come true?   It is batting the same average as the End of the Worlders, right? Like zero? Why do people still follow this site/group?

General Comments / ObamaCare survives again
« on: June 18, 2021, 08:10:29 AM »
So the SC denied standing to a group of conservative states trying to overturn ObamaCare.  7-2.  And part of that 7 included 2 of Trumps appointees.

This points out 2 things.

First, maybe the dire warnings from liberals were over wrought.

Second, maybe Trump did not realize the independnce given by a lifetime appointment.  It seems he lost again.

General Comments / The Jan 6 Commission
« on: May 21, 2021, 01:05:51 PM »
So the Republicans, some of who were partly responsible for the Jan 6 insurrection, wanted to negotiate a down the middle split for the commission. The Dems gave in, gave the Republicans all they asked for, and now the Republicans in the Senate are going to vote against the group they said they wanted.

What a bunch of spineless cowards.   Of course they know that if the commission were to really do its job, they would look like the traitors they are.

This is not the Party I grew up with. This group is a bunch of Trump cowards.

General Comments / Infrastructure
« on: April 26, 2021, 09:45:47 AM »
Ok so what does infrastructure entail?

The Republicans seem to think it is only roads and bridges.   Biden et al seem to claim it is a much wider definition.

I happen to fall closer to the Biden side on this.  Replacing lead water lines seems  like an infrastructure program.  Updating the power grid seems like an infrastructure program.  Expanding green power sources seems like an infrastructure program.

On a side note, Larry Kudlows claim that Biden programs will force people to drink plant based beer is just too good an example of how out of touch some of these people are.

General Comments / Anti Asian attacks
« on: March 18, 2021, 02:15:11 PM »
What is going on with these guys?  Not only are they attacking innocent people, but most of the victims seem to be senior citizens?  I mean some 39 year old guy in SF just attacked a 75 year old lady.  She picked up a board and hit him back and sent him to the hospital.  Way to go.

But these MAGA cowards are attacking women and old people.  So brave of them.  Why not attack some triad member?  Oh yeah, they will get their heads handed to them.

General Comments / Will Trump split the party at CPAC?
« on: February 25, 2021, 03:05:37 PM »
So Trump is supposed to speak at CPAC this weekend and is expected to announce that he is the 2024 nominee for the Republicans (no need to have a primary, it would be crooked if he did not win the primary).  Many of the old guard have a problem with a 2 time impeached ex President who lost the popular vote twice, lost the House and lost the Senate.

With all of the Trumpist members of the party willing to slap down anyone who speaks poorly of Trump, or follows what they think is right, will the party split? As long as Trumps personality cult exists, I think it will.

The Party is not the man and Trump has made it all about him.  He has shown himself willing to burn down the Republic to get what he wants, so what is the issue with burning down the Party?  I mean he is a RINO.

General Comments / Trump 2024 Presidential Campaign Slogans
« on: February 15, 2021, 07:52:19 AM »
To the Beatles tune: "So You Think You Want an Insurrection".

MTGA  (Make Trump Great Again).

If I loose an election it was stolen.

I Can't go to jail if I'm President, right?

Any more?

General Comments / The Party of personal responsibility?
« on: January 22, 2021, 10:41:39 PM »
Protestors and rioters are now claiming that Trump made them do it.

These rugged individuals were led like sheep. It is not their fault. They can not be blamed. They are victims of a President who would pardon a bunch of financial criminals (especially bribery and other fraud scams) but would not pardon them.

General Comments / The Case for Trumps Impeachment
« on: January 17, 2021, 09:51:57 AM »
Ok beyond what happened on Jan 6 of this year. What facts can be used to support the current impeachment of Trump.
Well lets start with all of the lies about the election results.  He has used these lies to sow doubt and distrust in our electoral system.  With no evidence of wide spread fraud he has pushed the idea that multiple states had enough undetected fraud to swing tens of thousands of votes. Even in states run by Republicans.

He then tried to force state leaders to "change" the vote tallies in their states and make him the winner (see phone calls to GA SOS and Governor).

He then tried to have State legislatures over turn the popular vote results in their states.

He then tried to convince his VP that he could over turn the results on Jan 6.

Each of these things are efforts to over turn the legal election of Joe Biden.

Using this plan Trump has been trying to get his followers to bully politicians into changing the results of the election.

That is insurrection.

General Comments / What will happen on Jan 20?
« on: January 10, 2021, 11:25:06 AM »
Will Trump go quietly in to the night?  Or will he rile his supporters up and riot in front of the Capitol again?

General Comments / So will you take the vaccine?
« on: December 27, 2020, 08:29:16 AM »
Yes when it is my turn.  Which I expect will be late spring/early summer.

I expect my youngest son, who works as a pharmacy tech at a children's hospital to get it next month.  He is not front line, but does have to go to the wards (the children's hospital is running an over flow ward for the main hospital, so there are Covid patients there at times).

General Comments / What will Trump do in his last 28 days?
« on: December 23, 2020, 07:49:24 AM »
Start a war?
Declare martial law and send in the troops?
Veto military spending and Covid relief?
Barricade himself in the Oval Office and refuse to leave?
Pardon every Federal prisoner?

General Comments / Fox News and Fake News
« on: November 24, 2020, 09:26:02 PM »
Fox settles out of court with the family of Seth Rich for 7 figures, just before Sean Hannity and others who promoted the story were due to be deposed.

Fox retracted the story only 8 days after it was broadcast but Sean and other kept promoting the idea that Seth was the leak. But he was not.

Lets talk about how Fox is the bastion of truth and honest reporting.

General Comments / Welcome to the Biden Administration
« on: November 07, 2020, 03:22:48 PM »
(paraphrasing LMM from Hamilton on the title).

I know Cherry started a thread a bit like this but I would like to get a bit more concrete now.

Assuming the Dems do not pull off 2 Senate seats in GA and Biden has to deal with a Repub Senate, that shoots down what are probably many of his first choices for Cabinet positions.

Most namely Warren as SecTre.

So who do you think he will nominate for what positions that Mitch et al will approve? Any Republicans?  Say Kasich from Ohio? Romney?

General Comments / Rudy and Borat
« on: October 24, 2020, 04:49:39 PM »
I am not a fan of SBC and especially his Borat character.  I think the idea of playing gotcha humor with private citizens is mean spirited.

But this interview that is shown in his new movie with Rudy is disturbing.  I wonder if Rudy even let Trump know it was coming.  I mean he had to know it was on its way. I think it shows how susceptible he would be to blackmail.  If SBC had not come out of the closet when he did, I think Rudy might have gone even further.

At least Pence's long standing thing with never being in a room with another women with out someone else being there as well has some background benefit.

Yes Rudy was set up, but he fell right into it. All he had to do was say "Sorry I think that is not a good idea.  The interview is done and I think I will leave now."

I wonder if SBC would have used the bit if Rudy had done that?

Ok we all know it is still weeks from the election and polls do not always reflect how people will vote.

However, if trends keep going the way they are and Trump looses there is also the chance the GOP looses the Senate.

If that happens, will Trump remain the darling of the GOP in power?  I mean since he has always played himself as an outsider will they keep honoring him?

Or will they turn on him like a pack of dogs?  Will  Mitch McConnell call for hearings? Will Trump be outcast or martyr?

General Comments / October Surprise
« on: September 02, 2020, 07:32:41 PM »
Will Trump force through a vaccine that is rushed through the approval process just to help his re-election chances? What happens if he is re-elected and then the vaccine does not work as advertised or, worse, has bad side effects that were not found because of the rush?

Now don't get me wrong. I hope they do come up with a vaccine quickly. And if it works well, he gets credit for getting it pushed through. But will he be lucky that it works or at least does not cause any harm.

Of course there is no way they will be able to make enough doses to get any type of penetration in the population for any effect to been seen by election day.

General Comments / Why do conservatives have a problem with the USPS?
« on: August 14, 2020, 08:15:45 AM »
Why are Republicans (and conservatives) so hell bent on privatizing the Postal Service?  I mean it is one of the few actual agencies authorized by the Constitution? You would think they would be in favor of it since it is in the original document. Instead they say it should pay for itself? Why? It is a service supplied by the Federal Government, one of the few that the Founding Fathers actually wanted. And now Trump is doing what I feel is an impeachable offense over not funding it so that we can have an honest election at a time of pandemic, just because he knows it will hurt his chances? Any one want to defend his actions?

General Comments / The Squad
« on: August 12, 2020, 10:26:53 AM »
So all 4 members of The Squad easily won their primaries with huge margins. Even though there was large outside the district money supporting others running against them (most likely from conservative groups trying to get rid of them). Will the Squad get a few more members this fall.  Let's wait and see.

General Comments / Hamilton
« on: July 07, 2020, 01:54:53 PM »
Hamiton is now on Disney.  If you have not had a chance to see this movie recording of the play, watch it. It is one of the best musicals ever done. The acting is great as is the choreography  and the music is some of the best I have ever heard.  2 songs stand out for me.  Burn, where his wife Eliza reacts to the news of his affair (which he wrote and published a pamphlet about to head off his political opponents using it against him) and It's Quiet Uptown, about the aftermath of his son's death in a duel.  If you do not cry during this song you do not have a heart.  It is one of the most moving, heart wrenching songs of loss and forgiveness written.
