Current reporting is it was a child porn raid. So not associated with either political side.

Depending on the fire power and weapons used it could help make a case as to why individuals shouldn't have easy access to assault rifles (if one was used). Odds are one was. It was a planned raid. Agents would have had body armor. So the rounds used are likely high power that penetrated body their body armor.

I'm reasonably sure armor piercing bullets are already illegal or at least heavily controlled? Sounds like there will be the usual chatter about gun control with the pro-gun side using the deaths of cops against the "law and order" side of the pro-gun argument.

For real, though, everything involves a political side in our times. All this pedo had to is have a bumper sticker, or a yard sign, or a tweet expressing support for one side or the other and it will be held up as proof positive that {insert side here} are cop killers.
