Russia Russia Russia!

U.S. officials have told Sen. Bernie Sanders that Russia is attempting to help his presidential campaign as part of an effort to interfere with the Democratic contest, according to people familiar with the matter.

So now we know, Sanders is a Russian agent and should be immediately disqualified from the nomination process. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that a lifelong avowed communist is a Putin stooge.

Rep Swalwell lays out the TDS position:

Quote
You can’t hold it against Bernie Sanders that this may be a preference of Russia, but you can hold it, and ask questions of Donald Trump, if he is working as an agent of Russia …

Who’s surprised?

"according to people familiar with the matter."

The new standard for media vetting.

Sanders made a statement. So it is real.

“I don’t care, frankly, who [Russian President Vladimir] Putin wants to be president,” Sanders said in a statement. “My message to Putin is clear: Stay out of American elections, and as president I will make sure that you do.

Compare and contrast to Trump.

So denial is proof of guilt? Really?

Not actually deep, you just didn't understand why your post about denial and proof of guilt is a complete non sequitur.

I’m willing to believe I misunderstood, that the context of this thread didn’t frame his response. Perhaps just one more 9 would clarify it for me. Or another completely useless comment.  But mostly just one more 9. That’s good stuff.

You're drawing an equivalence, presumably to show some kind of double standard. I'm making it clear that there is no equivalence. On the series of checkboxes:

1. Intelligence agencies identify Russian interference in favor of Candidate.
2. Candidate denied it happened.
3. Candidate backs Putin statement.
4. Candidate expresses admiration for Putin.
5. Candidate eventually has secret meetings with Putin
6. Candidate's representatives meet with Russian lobbyist and make misleading statements.

It seems Sanders has now ticked off #1, and actively rejected #2

There’s no #9 in that. Doesn’t cross the threshold for a serious comment. LOL

But seriously, it is a double standard.

I dunno, Bernie honeymooned in the USSR, and Putin thinks the dissolution of the USSR was one of the world's greatest tragedies. I think Bernie and Putin may have some common ground.  8)

It's a wash in my book, I think Trump wanted to bury it reflexively based on his experience in 2016. The man's a train wreck, and gives me a headache, can't wait for him to exit the political scene, but I doubt it will be soon enough for most.
