However, when it comes down to it, even if the agents started the plot, these guys went along with it. They did not leave, they did not report to the police that the group was planning something illegal.

That's pretty much what 'entrapment' is about.

You, hopefully, don't want the authorities to be creating criminals just so you can capture the criminals that wouldn't have existed without you creating them. Talk about an abuse of power and a counterproductive waste of taxpayers' money!

Which means you shouldn't be wanting the agents to be "starting" a plot. You shouldn't want agents to be *creating* criminals, just so they can capture criminals. You don't want your firemen to be arsonists, you don't want your pest-exterminators to be pest-breeders, and you don't want your cops to be entrappers.

Encouraging someone into a crime, even when the benefits you plan to extract from it is arresting them for the crime (rather than the fruits of said crime itself), should be itself a crime equivalent to the crime encouraged.

Alright, the verdicts are in! What happened?

Not guilty.

Quote
Jurors acquitted two men Friday accused of plotting to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and deadlocked on charges against the two alleged ringleaders, delivering a staggering blow to the government in one of the largest domestic terrorism cases in recent U.S. history.

It was all BS, just a plot by the FBI to sway the election.

Another trial coming for Fox and friend. Deadlocked jury seems to nullify the complete BS you're trying to sell.

Still not guilty. Say whatever you want, not guilty is the reality. It was an fbi operation, the fbi orchestrated the kidnapping and rooed a few rubes into it. All designed to sway the election. Say it with me, “not guilty”.

We all know juries are incapable of acquitting someone guilty. But, in this case, no they didn't orchestrate anything. We've been over it dozens of times. Fox dreamed it up and actively promoted it. While they might have remained daydreams if the FBI hadn't provided him with means, that's not the same thing as cooking it up. These other guys, maybe it wasn't clear. Maybe many of the jurors were sympathetic because they also thought Whitmer was a tyrant. Maybe these guys are heroes to them.

Completely forgot about these bozos who were "entrapped" by the FBI and "acquitted."

Adam Fox and Barry Croft, Jr. were convicted by a Federal jury for conspiracy to kidnap the governor and conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction.  Croft was also convicted of possessing an unregistered destructive device (an improvised explosive wrapped in pennies for shrapnel).  That was way back in August.

Now Paul Bellar, Joseph Morrison and Pete Musico were found guilty of materially aiding a terrorist and being a member of a gang attempting to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and felony weapons charges.

Looks like everyone will be sentenced in December.

It's good to see that the law still frowns on planning to kidnaps a sitting governor.  ;)

Just another example of the corrupt judicial system full of liberal judges not willing to stand up for the patriots trying to save America.  What more evidence do you need that Gates/Soros have bought off all of the judges in these cases. The evidence is clear and overwhelming. The fact that there was any trial at all shows what a farce it was. They never should have been charged and it a real Justice System they would have been given medals.

If I had only known that making bombs to kidnap the governor with was frowned upon, I never would have done it!

And today the first sentences were handed down.

Quote
Judge Thomas Wilson, the chief judge of the Jackson County Circuit and Probate Court, sentenced Mr. Musico to a minimum of 12 years in prison, including consecutive sentences of five to 20 years for gang membership, five to 20 years for supporting terrorist acts and two years for the firearms charge.

Mr. Morrison was sentenced to a minimum of 10 years in prison, including two consecutive sentences of four to 20 years for gang membership and supporting terrorist acts and another two years for the firearms violation.

Mr. Bellar received a minimum of seven years, with concurrent sentences of five to 20 years for gang membership and four to 20 years for supporting terrorist acts, as well as a consecutive sentence of two years for the firearms charge. ...

Earlier this year, Mr. Fox and his co-defendant, Barry Croft, were convicted in federal court of conspiring to kidnap Governor Whitmer. Mr. Fox and Mr. Croft, who are both facing up to life in prison, are scheduled to be sentenced this month.
