Gambia, a 90% Muslim country, just voted overwhelmingly to end the 22-year reign of a dictator who , within the last year, declared Gambia an "Islamic Republic" and that he would win the election "unless Allah wills it."

Africa seems full of unusual accounts of how to cure or prevent HIV.  President Mbeki of South Africa said he protected himself and his five wives from HIV by showering immediately after having sex with the HIV-infected woman who later accused him of rape.
